Young Scholars is an afterschool reading and outdoor program for children in Kindergarten - 3rd grade.
Registration is required; the program is currently full.
Young Scholars highlights two fundamentals of childhood: reading and outdoor activity.
Each week your child will enjoy a healthy snack, finish homework if need be, then read with a reading buddy. Each session will end with outdoor time, if weather permits. We will watch seeds grow into plants, play outside, and even raise caterpillars into butterflies!
Community volunteers will serve as buddies during homework and reading time.
Volunteers from the Comal Master Gardeners and Guadalupe River State Park will teach us about Texas nature and wildlife.
The Children’s Librarian will supervise every program.
