Every Wednesday for 8 consecutive weeks

Project Starship is a creative writing class that utilizes STEM activities to write Science fiction short stories. Mrs. Linda Jackson has been an educator for gifted and talented students for over 25 years. If your child is interested in science fiction and all things STEM related...this club is for you!

It is the year 2200. Earth has been a peaceful paradise for people and all the living creatures of our planet. Humans have spread throughout the solar system, living on Earth’s moon, Mars, and a few moons of Jupiter, not to mention thousands of space stations and homes orbiting nearly everywhere.

Today, you are starting a short but full course in basic Starship theory. Your training will cover the physics of gravity, rocketry, and unfortunately, the study of light. As capable as the human race has become, we still must obey the laws of the Universe, and one of those is the speed limit the Universe imposes.

15 lucky people (The first 15 individuals to sign up) will be chosen for abilities in everything from STEM skills to musical ability. We have a whole miniature world to build for traveling in. Are you ready?

Project Starship meets every Wednesday during Summer Reading. Please register only if you plan to attend all 8 weeks. Registering once registers you for every week in the series.
